This series began with a simple sketch, but it's true inspiration came from a custom mini rooster balloon I painted for my mother-in-law. The reference balloon I used was vibrant (loud) and colorful and reminded me of the roosters I heard crowing in the early morning hours when I was young. This simple and sentimental memory sparked the entire artwork collection to reflect the early morning hours of a day, with each rooster painting symbolizing a different phase of the sunrise.
